How long is a 1: 1 coaching session?

1:1 coaching session will last for 1 hr and will be in complete confidence.

How many 1: 1 coaching sessions will I need?

This will vary from individual to individual, but as a guideline 3 sessions will normally be sufficient, but the service will be tailored to the individual needs.

Will I need to do any preparation prior to a coaching session?

Yes, we send you some questionnaires prior to the first coaching session to get an idea of your current habits & behaviour.
We might also ask you to complete a sleep diary in the weeks leading up to the first coaching session again to gain an understanding of your current habits & behaviour.

Is there anything I can do before my coaching session to help me sleep better?

Yes, try some relaxation. Either attend an organised relaxation session or download an app from Spotify or iTunes and allow yourself some time to unwind and relax prior to going to bed.
Also consider dimming the main lights in your house 1 hr before bedtime, to ease yourself into a more restful state of mind.

Are your sleep coaching services available for children as well as adults?

Yes, initially we may work just with the parent/s to establish the current sleeping issues and habits and build up an approach for the child from there.

What is insomnia?

Insomnia displays certain characteristics such as difficulty falling asleep, difficulty staying asleep and poor quality of sleep.
Any more than 3 consecutive nights of broken & poor sleep can be classified as insomnia.

How common is insomnia?

Sadly, very common with figure reported that 25% of the UK population suffer with chronic insomnia.
Women are three times more likely than men to suffer from insomnia.

Can insomnia be treated?

We employ Cognitive Behaviour Therapy for Insomniacs (CBTi) techniques to help combat the negative thoughts around sleep and insomnia, combined with sleep hygiene practices and relaxation methods.
